A former 11th century palace overlooking the Amalfi Coast, Hotel Caruso has long welcomed guests to its exquisitely decorated rooms - and has now been returned to its original glory. ROOMS & SUITESHotel Caruso offers a breathtaking range of possibilities for guests by way of 48 spacious Rooms and Suites. Each one with its own unique style, be it with sea view terraces and many also with a private garden. The furniture reflects Neapolitan style and tradition and has been exclusively created for Hotel Caruso; with some rooms also featuring antique 18th and 19th-century pieces.Â
DININGThe Hotel Caruso has a range of dining facilities to suit every occasion. Traditional Neapolitan cuisine and regional Italian dishes are, of course, house specialities.
The cuisine here is "Mediterranean", with an accent on traditional regional recipes from Naples and the Southern part of Italy, revisited in a contemporary style by the brilliant Executive Chef Mimmo di Raffaele. Special attention is put on the freshness of the food with wide selections of mozzarella, local vegetables, fish and meat. Guests are invited to choose from two restaurants, both with a wonderful view onto the Amalfi Coast, namely The Belvedere Restaurant on the terrace for sunny days or warm evenings, or The Caruso Restaurant, boasting beautiful views and an indoor dining area in case of inclement weather. |

LEISUREApart from helicopter tours, boating excursions, a spa treatment and other luxurious touches one would expect from a hotel of this standard, what sets Hotel Caruso apart from its contemporaries is quite simply its infinity pool.
At the highest point of Ravello, just past the hotels’ handsome portico bar and lovingly preserved 18th century drawing room, the pool is accessed via an alley of roses under a covered pergola, with musical rivulets of water coursing along stone runners on the side. At the alley’s end, the infinity pool is elliptically shaped, in line with the geography of the escarpment. The pool is heated and has a dedicated concierge service. Ipods with a wide selection of music, fresh fruit and Evian vaporisers are all readily available, helping to complete the feeling of being “nearer to the sky than to the sea” as aptly described by French Nobel Prize winning author André Gide.
