Sutera Harbour’s 9th Patron’s Cup

The 9th Patron’s Cup Championship and Gala Dinner 2011 held at Sutera Harbour Resort was to honour the Patron of Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club, His Excellency Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Juhar Bin Haji Mahiruddin.

The event began with a morning prelude that included a tree planting ceremony to commemorate the appointment of His Excellency Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Juhar Bin Haji Mahiruddin as the new patron of the resort, who attended with YABhg Toh Puan Datin Seri Panglima Hajah Norlidah Datuk RM Jasni in accompaniment.

A 109-person Hole-in-One tournament that morning offered prizes such as a Peugeot 308Vti valued at RM130,000 sponsored by Angkatan Hebat Sdn Bhd, 12 bottles of Cutty Sark Scots Whiskey care of Kwong Hin (HK) Sdn Bhd, and RM100,000 in cash courtesy of BMW FM Autohaus Sdn Bhd.

There were also lucky draw prizes offered, such as One Term Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club Golf Membership worth RM12,000 and One Term Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club Social Membership worth RM5,000. Other prizes included accommodation at The Pacific Sutera Hotel, The Magellan Sutera Resort, Kinabalu Park, Mesilau Nature Resort and Manukan Island Resort.

The Gala Dinner itself featured a performance by Amy Mastura and was once again emceed by multi-lingual TV personality and celebrity host Dato’ Mahadzir Lokman. Presenting the Patron’s Cup to the Champions was His Excellency Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Juhar Bin Haji Mahiruddin, witnessed by Sutera Harbour Resort Chairman YBhg Tan Sri Ahmad Kamil, Sutera Harbour Resort President YBhg Datuk Edward Ong, Director of Sutera Harbour Resort YBhg Dato’ Zarazilah bin Mohd Ali and Sutera Harbour Resort Chief Executive Officer Frank Liepmann.

Also present during the dinner were Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology YB Datuk Yee Moh Chai, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment YB Datuk Masidi Manjun, Minister of Youth and Sports YB Datuk Peter Pang and Mayor of Kota Kinabalu City YBhg Datuk Abidin Madingkir.


As much an attraction was the Vogue Editors themselves, as they walked the streets from store to store amongst crowds of shoppers. Editors attending included the host Editor, Mitsuko Watanabe, Editor of Japanese Vogue; Franca Sozzani, Editor of Italian Vogue; Alexandra Shulman, Editor of British Vogue; Emmanuelle Alt, Editor of French Vogue; Angelica Cheung, Editor of Vogue China; Christiane Arp, Editor of German Vogue; Yolanda Sacristan, Editor of Spanish Vogue; Viktoria Davydova, Editor of Vogue Russia; Kirstie Clements, Editor of Australian Vogue; Eva Hughes, Editor of Mexican and Latin American Vogue; Paula Mateus, Editor of Portuguese Vogue; Myung Hee Lee, Editor of Vogue Korea; Seda Domanic, Editor of Vogue Turkey; Rosalie Huang, Editor at Large of Vogue Taiwan: Anaita Adajania, Acting Editor of Indian Vogue, and Anna Harvey, Vice President and Editorial Director of Condé Nast New Markets, representing Vogue Brazil and Greek Vogue.
