A full night of fashion became one of the year-end highlights for Kota Kinabalu as Chivas Regal unveiled its 18 Year Old limited edition whisky, with a bottle created by the fashion house of legendary French designer Christian Lacroix. This unique collaboration was further celebrated through a fashion show that featured the work of six Malaysian designers, as inspired by the bottle’s design.

Pernod Ricard, one of the world’s leaders in wines and spirits via its global elite premier brand, Chivas Regal, has established an exclusive partnership with iconic international luxury brand Christian Lacroix, unveiling the Chivas 18 Year Old by Christian Lacroix. To herald the arrival of such a landmark luxury and fashion icon, Chivas Regal invited prominent Malaysian designers to create signature collections inspired by Chivas Regal and Christian Lacroix.

Malaysia's distinguished fashion designers Beatrice Looi, Ian Chang, Joe Chia, Jovian Mandagie, Lee Khoon Hooi and Michael Ong each showcased a commemorative collection featuring three distinct pieces along with a signature bottle sleeve at the event with the highlight of the evening being a fashion show coordinated by renowned stylist, Cris Yong, who also contributed a bottle sleeve design. Beatrice Looi and Cris Yong flew to Kota Kinabalu to participate in the local launch of the bottle design.

With flamboyant creativity, innovation and in true Lacroix style, Christian Lacroix has brought haute couture to Scotch whisky with the bejeweled Chivas 18 Year Old bottle. The limited edition perfectly combines the luxury of haute couture and the craftsmanship of ultra-premium blended Scotch whisky, amplifying sophisticated qualities crafted as a collector’s item. It was fitting therefore that the Malaysian unveiling celebrated the audacious creativity embraced by both Chivas Regal and Christian Lacroix with a dazzling homage by local fashion visionaries.

“Christian Lacroix has produced something magnificent in the new Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Limited Edition – a design that perfectly combines the luxury of haute couture and the craftsmanship of luxury Scotch whisky,” said Terrence Ong, Sales and Marketing Director of Pernod Ricard. “What we are presented with, is not simply a bottle of whisky, but a crafted collector’s piece. We feel privileged to have worked with Christian Lacroix yet again and are proud to include such an extraordinary limited edition to the Chivas Regal range.”

The prestigious Chivas Regal 18 Year Old ‘Gold Signature’ limited edition will release 3,000 bottles worldwide, of which 15 will be available in Malaysia. The exuberant Chivas Regal 18 will be visible in eminent outlets around the world.
