The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong and the Spanish Tourist Office are delighted to bring Spanish gastronomy to centre stage this Summer, featuring the most influential chef in the world Ferran Adrià and his protégé Paco Roncero from 26th to 28th August 2011.

The mastermind behind the world famous El Bulli restaurant, Chef Ferran Adrià often associated with innovation and molecular gastronomy with his avant-garde combinations of flavour, temperature and texture. Having worked in El Bulli since 1983, Chef Adrià has led the restaurant in netting a coveted three Michelin stars. El Bulli has been regarded as one of the world’s best restaurants and was become a pilgrimage site for food lovers. While the restaurant closed its doors last July, Chef Adrià’s new adventure will be creating the El Bulli Foundation, a Think-Tank for gastronomic creativity from which all creations will be shown around the world. The Foundation will attract talent from around the world to develop new gastronomic techniques and concepts.

One of Chef Adrià’s star pupils, the award-winning Paco Roncero, is famous for his contributions to molecular gastronomy and food innovation, including the development of new textures for olive oil and milk, and the creation of the “Gestor de Cocina”, a program designed to enhance the development and management of gastronomic venues.

The three-day programme includes a one-day conference (morning and afternoon sessions) at The Diamond Ballroom by Chef Adrià followed by a cooking show by Chef Roncero. In addition, Chef Roncero will whet appetites at Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong's exquisite fine dining restaurant Tosca with his exceptional molecular gastronomy expertise.
