The inaugural KK Food Fest came to a very successful close on Friday 22nd July with its Finale Charity Dinner held at the Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The evening commenced with a showcase from participating restaurants and a well-received Guinness sampling booth at the foyer of the main ballroom. Over 170 guests were then feted to a sumptous feast by the resort's chefs, entertained by stand-up comedian Kuah Jenhan and saw proceeds from the evening going towards the Bukit Harapan home.

Appropriately themed “A Tasty Turn of Events”, the KK Food Fest was a two week event featuring Food & Beverage outlets in the city, which saw 20 participating restaurants offering exclusive and inventive festival menus. Complementing the KK Food Fest were four Fringe Events, namely, a Food Presentation along Jalan Gaya by ATI College, an Introduction to Sabah Ingredients & Cuisine by Wendy Hutton of the Lemon Grass Cooking School, a Wine & Dine Evening with Clinton Ang of CornerStone Wines and an Introduction to Wine class by Winecellars owner Meng Tan.

Organized by Malaysia's first premier online lifestyle magazine, LifeAndStyle.com.my, the crux of the KK Food Fest was to discover and promote varied dining options in our city, catering not only to dedicated gourmands, but also to those of us who are very simply foodies at heart.

The KK Food Fest's Dine & Win Contest and voting for the People's Choice Awards is still ongoing. For more details please visit www.kkfoodfest.com
