Award-winning Aqua Restaurant Group have opened their latest offering, ayuthaiya – a chic new Thai style bar and restaurant in Soho on Hollywood Road. This new venue serves delicious Thai ‘gin len’ (‘playful eating’) which are small dishes perfect for sharing among friends, alongside Asian-inspired cocktails. The dual floor stylish venue is designed primarily as a great space for socializing, while enjoying a range of both traditional and unique Thai style small plates and exotic cocktails. ayuthaiya draws its design inspiration from the traditional wooden houses associated with Thailand’s ancient capital, ayuthaiya, but reinterprets them in a sultry, contemporary style. A signature design feature is the dramatic, softly lit amulet shapes based on Buddhist symbols found in Wat Pho temple. ayuthaiya serves light modern cuisine which is based on authentic Thai cooking. It specializes in light contemporary Thai cuisine through adventurous use of new ingredients and produce, without compromising the very flavorings and textures that make Thai cuisine so unique and well-loved. It brings together authentic regional Siamese cuisine, hip cocktails and the best of Bangkok beats. Signature dishes include Por Pia Goong Sod, river prawn and asparagus roll with tamarind syrup; Homok Talay, seafood steamed in banana leaves with red curry and Thai herbs; Salmon Miang Khem, salmon confit, peanuts, toasted coconut and shrimp sauce in betel leaves. Desserts include Khao Niew Mamuang, sweet sticky rice with thick coconut milk and fresh mango; Bua Loy Nam Khing, rice dumplings in sweet ginger and red sugar; and refreshing ice-cream such as Coconut and Pandanus ice-cream and Black sticky rice and coconut ice cream. |
