When you simply don't wish to be found, when you need to escape, unwind and experience the finer things in life, there is no better place to disappear to than Bedarra Island. This is Australia's most exclusive resort, an indulgent tropical private haven, lying off the coast of Cairns.

At Bedarra, guests can do as they wish, when they wish. A maximum of 32 guests ensures that style-cramping isn't an issue. With just 16 architecturally refined Villas nestled into the rainforest, Bedarra is very much a place for the dedicated few. On Bedarra it's all about peace, privacy, and the ultimate in tropical style luxury.

Bedarra is an exclusive private hideaway situated 7 kilometres off the coast of Tropical North Queensland near Mission Beach, approximately 140km from Cairns and 235 km from Townsville. Comprising 16 superbly designed and appointed villas, a spacious open terrace restaurant, and truly magnetic bar and lounge, Bedarra attracts those who wish to indulge their senses and savour the finest of luxury service and style.

An open terrace restaurant, bar and lounge are the heart and soul of Bedarra, where guests converge over a delicious and ever-changing menu, or to indulge at the legendary open bar. An exquisite menu (that changes daily) is matched only by the sublime beauty of deserted beaches fringed by lush rainforest.

For the more adventurous, deep sea fishing charters and scuba diving or snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef are naturally popular. The Beach Club is situated on the shores of Wedgerock Bay and offers an array of complimentary activities for guests. It also features an internet lounge, gym and massage room.

For the more indulgent, a treatment at the Spa of Peace & Plenty on nearby Dunk Island is the perfect tonic.

Inspired by author E.J. Banfield and his novel 'Confessions of a Beachcomber', Bedarra first attracted residents in the early 1900's. The Coleman family took ownership of the island in 1938 and immediately established a small tourism venture, with some of the first guests returning to purchase land for themselves.

GETTING THERE
Regular flights are available from all major Australian capital cities, with a light aircraft transfer to Dunk Island via Cairns. It is then a 20 minute launch service between Dunk Island and Bedarra Island that operates daily and meets all flights into Dunk Island.
