In a country famed for its beauty, the most spellbinding images associated with Montenegro are of the tiny islet named Sveti Stefan. From its beginnings as a 15th century fortress for 12 families of the Paštrovic' tribe, to its heyday as a fishing village supporting 400 inhabitants in the early 1800s, and even to its fading years in the early 20th century, the island has always maintained a high profile in Montenegro’s consciousness. Located in the centre of Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, Aman Sveti Stefan incorporates two kilometres of coastline including the pink sandy beaches of Sveti Stefan, Milocer Beach and the renowned Queen’s Beach. While its historic exterior remains largely unchanged, the resort’s interiors have been restored and updated to meet contemporary expectations. Aman Sveti Stefan already offers Villa Milocer’s six suites, and two one-bedroom Queen Marija Suites on the Villa’s grounds. The island’s 50 guest cottages and suites will unveil themselves in stages, and the resort welcomed its first guests in July. Perched atop a rocky precipice, Queen’s Chair offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Budva. Open from 6 in the evening, the restaurant serves up Pan-Adriatic fare with a distinctive Italian feel consisting of local cheese, garden-fresh salads and homemade pastas, served on the expansive sun-terrace along with cocktails and hand-selected local wines. Olive Restaurant is a casual, laid-back venue invoking the ambience of a beachside brasserie. Olive’s menu features a large selection of cut-to-order meats and seafood prepared on its two signature wood-fired grills and its antique olive-wood-fired rotisserie. Located in a secluded spot near Villa Milocer, the Beach Café provides informal dining throughout the day. Shaded by cypress trees and century-old olive groves, the al fresco setting is ideal for a selection of light snacks and a simple café menu. |

The island of Sveti Stefan itself will offer diverse dining options in a unique atmosphere reminiscent of its fabled past – The Piazza. This open-air square is the heart and soul of the island’s village setting featuring a number of dining venues including a Taverna, an Enoteca, a Pasticceria, an Antipasti Bar and a Cigar Room. Also located on the island away from the vibrant bustle of the Piazza is the Cliff Pool and Bar. Other facilities to open are The Aman Restaurant, Terrace and Pool Bars and the main swimming pool. The island of Sveti Stefan will also offer spa treatment suites featuring a range of signature Aman Spa therapies. Further afield, Aman Sveti Stefan provides guests with personalised guided excursions to natural and cultural attractions in the area – both along the Montenegrin coast and into the spectacular interior of the country. These include boating on the Adriatic, visiting the town of Budva, the royal capital of Cetinje, and the beautifully-preserved baroque city of Perast, discovering the peaceful Skadar Lake and exploring the Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As the property establishes itself, other activities offered will include an array of watersports and bird watching, to ensure that guests will be provided with a range of bespoke experiences that embrace the unique spirit of Motenegro. |
