Angsana Hotels & Resorts is set to include the distinct flavour of Mauritius to its portfolio with the launch of Angsana Balaclava in the fourth quarter of this year.

Located only 15 minutes away from the capital of Port Louis, Angsana Balaclava is ideally situated along the picturesque Baie aux Tortues or Turtle Bay famed for its turquoise sea and sandy beaches.

Angsana Balaclava is a 5-star intimate boutique resort that features an award-winning spa, 49 suites and a villa with four bedrooms, reflecting all that is uniquely Mauritian - the fusion of Asian, European and African cultural influences. The architecture and interior of Angsana Balaclava features thatched roofs, rattan wall coverings as well as stone flooring.

Modern Mauritian

The suites combine rustic charm and contemporary chic, many overlooking the lagoon, the pool or the ocean. The resort enjoys privacy and sunset views, providing the ideal romantic haven for couples and honeymooners. Another sweetener is in-room relaxation pools, steam rooms or jet pools.

Dine and Unwind

The resort will feature two Asian fusion restaurants – head chef Nyoman Suardi Nio will oversee the Main Restaurant offering all-day dining and the pool-side Grill & Bar. Guests can savour fresh seafood and snacks here after a swim or wind down at the Main Bar at the lobby with fine wines, aged whiskeys, exotic tropical cocktails or any tipple of choice.

More pleasures await at Angsana Spa. Rejuvenate the senses with Asian-inspired therapies from the award-winning spa. Embark on a specially tailored Angsana Spa Journey to enhance wellness. Choose from relaxation, weight management to Ayurvedic Tri-Dosha treatments. Using the finest marine botanical and natural indigenous products, professionally trained therapists by the acclaimed Banyan Tree Spa Academy in Phuket, Thailand will deliver indulgent treatments that inspire top-to-toe renewal.

Fun-filled Activities

Angsana Balaclava is proud to tie up with the Balaclava Conservation Centre. Join the hotel conservation team to learn about the Mauritian ecosystem via environmental rehabilitation and management of the local habitat. Activities on site include lab work, coral planting, guided snorkels and surveys.

Other attractions include the nearby Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens for the indigenous plants and trees of Mauritius, and the Beau Plan Sugar Museum to learn about the history of Mauritius via the cultivation of sugar-cane since the 18th century under French colonial rule. At Port Louis, explore the bustling capital of Mauritius with its colourful local markets and fashionable shops. Grand Baie, a picturesque sea-side village overlooking the bay in the northern tip of the island, also has its fair share of trendy shops full of pashminas and pareos, and night-clubs for party-goers in the evenings. All these attractions are within 15 minutes by car from Angsana Balaclava.
