For the first time in Asia, and only the third in the world (after Paris and Milan), Men’s Fashion Week (MFW) 2011 will be staged in Singapore from 30th March to 3rd April 2011.

The five-day inaugural men’s fashion event will showcase the Autumn / Winter 2011 collections of up to 15 renowned brands from Singapore, the Asian region and internationally.

Costing an estimated S$2 million to organise, the curtains of MFW 2011 Singapore will be raised with a gala show on 30th March and conclude with a closing party on 3rd April. Participating brands, to date, include Boss Black by Hugo Boss, Canali, Dress Camp, Emmanuel, Etro, G.I.L. Homme, Raoul, Shanghai Tang and Versace.

MFW 2011 Singapore’s Creative Director, Daniel Boey, a renowned show producer, enthused, “MFW 2011 Singapore is a historic milestone for not only Singapore’s men’s fashion industry but also for Singapore as a whole. The shows will be of international standards with a preview of the upcoming trends in men’s fashion”.

Asian male supermodel, Philip Huang, who has walked the runways of Paris, Milan and New York, has been appointed the face of MFW 2011 Singapore and will take on the catwalk for various brands during the five-day fashion event. He is the first Asian male model to have broken the race barriers and ascended the fashion ladder to supermodel status and is a great representation of Asian success in the fashion world. Two more familiar faces have also been named to represent MFW 2011 Singapore as well – TV personality Utt and fashionista Julian Hee.

MFW 2011 Singapore will also serve as a platform to champion key social and philanthropic causes and endeavours, with proceeds of the sales of the tickets of the galas and shows going to several charities. In addition, a series of satellite galas and events will also be held in the months leading up to MFW 2011 Singapore to raise funds for these programmes and organisations.
